How to Play

Playing Tao of Peg is simple and is designed for 2-4 players. Using a combination of cards, luck, and strategy, players aim to win in a variety of ways.

To Begin

Each player chooses a color of pegs and is dealt four cards. The player who is most “at one” with the universe will go first.

WildCards

During your turn, begin by playing either a colored or wild card from your hand. If you play a colored card, place a peg in any space with the corresponding color on the board.

There are two types of wild cards:

  • Dragon wild cards – Remove any peg in play on the board.
  • Tiger wild cards – Place one of your pegs anywhere on the board.

Your turn ends by drawing a new card from the pile.

Tao of Peg is designed to balance strategy with luck.

There are multiple strategies to employ during play, such as:

  • Aggressive (go for the win),
  • Defensive (block other players from winning),
  • Sneaky (try not to be noticed),
  • or anything in between!

Other Tidbits

The game ends when one player wins!
If you cannot play during your turn, discard one card and draw a new one, without playing a peg.
Stalemate is possible. If the board fills up before any player has won, congratulations! Everyone loses!
